The Janeway Foundation’s special events provide a regular source of funding to ensure the care is always there for our children.  We rely on the support of our communities for the success of our special events to ensure the best health care possible to treat and save the lives of our children. 

Coast Radio Miracle Radiothon

“Live Radio Just Got Better!”

The Coast Radio Miracle Radiothon is a fast paced two day event broadcasting live from the Janeway Café at the Janeway Children’s Health and Rehabilitation Centre. From 6 am to 6 pm each day join Andy and the Coast Radio Miracle Team as they bring us heart-warming stories of hope, courage and determination. Stories that will make us laugh and some that will make us cry.

During the Coast Radio Miracle, listeners are asked to support the ongoing needs of the Janeway by signing on to the Monthly Giving Program. For only $ 15 a month, less than a cup of coffee a day, your gifts will provide a consistent source of revenue to support the hospital and the health care of our province's children.

Competing retailers, manufacturers, and brokers in the food industry come together to host the Janeway GIFT for Kids Charity Golf Tournament. This tournament held annually in September is quickly becoming one of the Province’s premier golfing events. With a shotgun start at 7:30 am, up to 36 teams compete  for amazing prizes and the honor of the GIFT for Kids Championship Trophy. Each year one of our Janeway Patients is chosen as Tournament Ambassador and joins us for the days’ festivities.

The Grocery Foundation of Atlantic Canada, President's Choice Children's Charity and the Janeway Children's Hospital Foundation are delighted to announce that the 7th Annual "Helicopter Ball Drop" will take place on Thursday, September 16, 2010 - approximately 10:30 am - at Bally Haly Golf & Curling Club.

From Saturday, July 31 to Sunday, August 15 Helicopter Ball Drop Tickets will be available at all Sobeys, Dominion and SaveEasy store locations throughout Newfoundland and Labrador.  By purchasing a $2.00 Ball Drop Ticket you will be  eligible to win a "Trip for Two" to any Air Canada Scheduled Destination plus $1,000 Spending Money.

Celebration of Life

The Celebration of Life is a recognition event for our In Memoriam program. 

Here at the Janeway Children’s Hospital Foundation we realize that the holiday season can be a very difficult time of year for families who have lost precious loved ones.  To show our appreciation for your support of our In Memory Program and to let you know how much we care about you, our Janeway Family, we introduced the Celebration of Life Ceremony, in hopes that it may, in some small way, help to ease your sorrow during the holiday season.

As part of the Celebration of Life Ceremony you and your family members will be invited to the Celebration of Life Ceremony to place an ornament, in memory of your loved one, on the Celebration of Life Tree.  This special tree is displayed throughout the Holiday Season at the Janeway Children’s Health and Rehabilitation Centre.  For further information please contact Michelle Coombs at 777-4187 or michelle.coombs@easternhealth.ca

“When the music stops our children will end up with a new piece of equipment that could save their lives!”

On the Friday before Valentine’s Day children in daycares all across our province kick up their heels for the Janeway.  It’s an annual event that gets our children active and raises money to purchase new state of the art medical equipment for the Janeway.
