Log A Load For Kids Canada, an initiative of the Canadian Woodlands Forum, is a national giving campaign through which loggers and other forest industry people donate the value of a load of logs, or any amount, to local Children's Miracle Network-affiliated hospital foundations and organize related fundraising events. One hundred percent of all contributions go to local CMN Canada hospital foundations - the proceeds from this Hockey Tournament will go to the Janeway Children’s Health & Rehabilitation Centre.

Walmart Walk for Miracles

The Janeway Children’s Hospital Foundation would like to welcome you, your friends and your family to join in the fun and help support the Janeway Children’s Health and Rehabilitation Centre this summer at the Walmart Walk for Miracles. You can walk on your own, join an existing team, create a team, or pledge someone you know that is participating – everyone is welcome to join in this fun-filled community event.

On Sunday, June 13, 2010 you can choose to walk along Quidi Vidi Lake in St. John’s or simply come and enjoy a morning filled with lots of music, great activities, and special guest appearances. And it is all for a good cause — raising funds to support our province’s only children’s hospital, which provides much-needed treatment, care and support to children throughout Newfoundland and Labrador.

For quick and easy registration you can simply go to www.walmartwalkformiracles.ca and print your pledge forms once you are signed-up. Or for those who would like to participate but do not want to register online, you can do so by contacting Jenine Kerrivan, Manager of Community Initiatives at 709-777-4227 or via email at jenine.kerrivan@easternhealth.ca. Participants can also register by asking for pledge forms at any of the 11 Walmart locations across the province.

Should you not be available to participate in St. John’s on June 13, 2010, you can create your own Virtual Miracle Walk to help raise funds for our children's hospitals, by visiting www.walmartwalkformiracles.ca. Signing up for the Virtual Miracle Walk site means you can arrange to walk alone or with friends and family on your own time, in your own community.

We encourage all participants to get silly and be creative in order to make your walk experience even more enjoyable and memorable. Walk, skip or hop the route, create a theme, get dressed up, or sing songs along the way — whatever you think would add to your day.

St. John’s participants: on-site pledge/ donation collections and entertainment will begin at 8 am on Sunday, June 13, 2010 and the Walmart Walk for Miracles will start 10 am.

For further information please contact Jenine Kerrivan at 777-4227 or jenine.kerrivan@easternhealth.ca
