Community Projects

The support of our community is vital to the success of our province’s only children’s health centre. Community groups, families and individuals raise money for the Janeway through various fundraisers. Please see below for a list of ways you can get involved and help us put the necessary tools in the hands of our doctors so we can continue to provide our Janeway families with excellence in care.

Call to discuss your idea further and don’t forget to visit our "Share Your Project" page – we want to know what’s happening in your community!

For more information please contact Jenine Kerrivan – Manager, Community Initiatives – at 709-777-4227 or via e-mail at jenine.kerrivan@easternhealth.ca.

Here are a few suggestions to help you get started with your next event in aid of the Janeway:

  • Start a recycle or penny collection
  • Organize a walk or run in your community
  • Hold a ticket draw (please note – you will be required to contact the Janeway Foundation to obtain a lottery license for any ticket raffles)
  • Have a bake or craft sale
  • Plan a potluck
  • Hold a yard sale
  • Be creative, come up with your own event and have fun with it

Day Care Dance-A-Thon

Tuesday, February 14, 2012

Each year the Janeway Children's Hospital Foundation works with community members of all ages to ensure sick and injured children throughout Newfoundland and Labrador receive the best care possible.

Day Care Dance-A-Thon provides an excellent platform for our youngest fundraisers to have fun while helping others.  Ultimately, this event is a quick and easy way to teach children about giving back to the community, plus it's a great excuse to go dancing in the middle of the day.

On behalf of the Janeway Children's Health & Rehabilitation Centre, we would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the Day Cares across the province (staff, parents and kids) and their communities for supporting this initative in 2011. We look forward to working with you again in preparation for the 13th Annual Kids Helping Kids Day Care Dance-A-Thon, taking place on Tuesday, February 14, 2012.

For more information please contact Jenine Kerrivan – Manager, Community Initiatives – at 709-777-4227 or via e-mail at jenine.kerrivan@easternhealth.ca.

NLTA Janeway Day in the Schools

Tuesday, February 14, 2012

Janeway Day in the Schools across Newfoundland and Labrador started out as a venture to collect recess money from teachers and students to help the Janeway Children's Health & Rehabilitation Centre.  In many schools this idea has since been expanded, making the event even more fun and entertaining for everyone involved...and this year was no different.  This fantastic fundraising venture has sparked amazing creativity and generosity.

On behalf of the Janeway Children's Hospital Foundation and the many families that will benefit from these efforts, we wish to thank all the schools (administration, teachers, parents and students) and communities across the province for their participation in our 2011 NLTA Janeway Day in the Schools. We look forward to working with you again in preparation for our 2012 event, taking place on Tuesday, February 14.
